Comm Arts alumnus Mano Sotelo’s (’92) painting “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life” was selected and will be on display at the Tucson Museum of Art Arizona Biennial 2013.
“Over 1,250 works were submitted to Arizona Biennial 2013 and 80 pieces were selected for the exhibition. This is the oldest running juried exhibition featuring exclusively Arizona artists and will be on view at the Tucson Museum of Art July 20 – September 29, 2013. The work juried into the exhibition were judged by noted guest curator René Paul Barilleaux, Chief Curator/Curator of Art after 1945, McNay Art Museum, San Antonio, Texas.”

Mano’s painting “Waking Up from the World of Thought” (oil on panel, 24″ x 30″) placed 1st in Manhattan Arts International’s (MAI) “Celebrate The Healing Power of ART” juried exhibition. MAI received images in a range of mediums by artists from around the United States as well as from Canada, and as far away as Romania, Finland, India, UK, France, Turkey, Israel, New Zealand and Sweden. The exhibition is designed to bring widespread awareness about the many positive benefits of Fine Art by showcasing a variety of interpretations, subject matter, styles and media that evoke the nature of healing in its many forms.
