The Copenhagen School of Design and Technology (KEA) hosted its KEA Charette 2016 on October 10-14, 2016. Interdisciplinary and international teams of design students were asked to address “Urban Livability” under three subtopics: mobility, trust, and new spaces.

Erim Ayhan (A/L/I senior), Monsey Barahona (A/L/I junior), Congxiao Liu (MFA Grad Graphic Design), and Wei Qui (A/L/I junior) traveled to Copenhagen to participate in the charette with Rich Shelton (Director of Creative Action/Integrated Learning), who served as mentor and travel leader for the group.

Erim, Monsey, Congxiao, and Wei were assigned to different teams with students from schools in Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, and Turkey.

Erim’s team winning project, “DEAD COME ALIVE,” is an interactive park for the Assistens Cemetery where people from all over the world, as well as Denmark, are buried. The park includes media installations that would entertain while educating visitors on the history of Copenhagen and famous Danish artists, philosophers, architects, etc.

Congratulations Erim, Monsey, Congxiao, and Wei on your outstanding participation in the KEA Charette 2016!
