Fitting for Lane Bryant

During a model fitting this week,  the senior class presented their designs to a special guest, fashion designer Joe McCarty of Lane Bryant. As a mentor, McCarty issued a direction to students to create eight pieces that build 30 complete looks for the Pre-Spring 2016 season.

According to his direction, the customer starts her day at work but will be going out later that evening. To take her outfit from “desk to dinner,” she’ll need versatile pieces that will encourage her to remix the clothes she owns and how she wears them.

The students presented their sketches next to the garments worn by the models as McCarty critiqued them and got hands-on by folding, snipping, and pinning the clothes. The class will incorporate his feedback into the next phase of constructing their designs.
