Anna Ayeroff – Culver City – 08/23/2013

Anna Ayeroff is a recent graduate of Otis College of Art and Design.  Her studio is nestled in a Culver City garage and is littered with supplies like Mylar and amethysts.  Since Ayeroff found out that her grandfather was part of a Jewish Utopian farming community in Utah, she has been investigating the history of alternative, communal living experiments in the United States. She is also working on a new series of sculptures fabricated from “cosmic dust” and creating an artist book generated from her tracings of the letters  “N”, “S”, “E”, “W” in the early feminist utopian novel Moving the Mountain by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.
