California Lawyers for the Arts empowers the creative professional community by providing education, representation and dispute resolution.

Experts will be on campus to discuss copyright law and intellectual property law for creative professionals. We encourage you to attend this informative session!

Speakers Include:
Attorney Nancy L. McCullough, is the principal of Law Offices of Nancy L. McCullough and a 10-year California Lawyers for the Arts (CLA) Board of Directors member. Former in-house counsel to Yahoo!, Capitol Records, and Sony, her current practice focuses on intellectual property, branding, digital technology, entertainment, and media law matters in transactional, advising, and pre-litigation contexts. Ms. McCullough advises prominent and emerging entertainment companies, designers (fashion, interior, web), artists (graphic, multimedia, recording), authors, producers (film, television, music), and technology innovators. She frequently speaks on IP topics for CLA and others: the American Bar Association, Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, L. A. Film School, L.A. County Bar Association, and law schools.

Attorney Matthew Swanlund is senior counsel at McGuireWoods LLP in Los Angeles where he counsels individual artists, producers and creative companies in intellectual property matters, including product endorsement, visual art, literary arts, music, events production, motion picture and television. Mr. Swanlund has been a frequent guest speaker at CLA events on legal issues for artists. He is a former Arts Commissioner for the City of Santa Monica and former member of the Board of Directors for California Lawyers for the Arts. He currently serves as Board President and legal counsel for WISH Charter Elementary School.
