Peninsula. Colonial Processes and Artistic and Curatorial Practices

The group Península, founded October 12, 2012, is a platform for debate about art, coloniality, and curation in relation to the history of Spain and Portugal, and their colonial processes and the latency of their power relations in the present. The group proposes to researchers, academics, graduate students, artists, and those interested in this topic of debate to participate in a series of working meetings and discussions. The group has as their mandate to analyze the role of the Iberian Peninsula in colonial processes, the visibility of the representations and narratives from different institutional spheres in the past and the present, as well as the responses of the artists, curators, and researchers to some of the problems from which these stories are derived.
