Seniors win the IIDA Student Design Charette 2015

IIDA-SoCal-Charette-Fall-2015_Otis_1st_2nd-PlaceArchitecture/Landscape/Interiors is pleased to announce that seniors Ghadeer Alburaiki’s team won 1st-Place/$10,000 and Paulina Benavide’s team won 2nd-Place/$4,000 in the SoCal IIDA Student Design Charette 2015!

The Southern California Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), hosted its 2015 Student Design Charette at LPA, Irvine, on Saturday, November 14, 2015.


Thirty students from eleven different schools collaborated within six teams of five students each. Participating schools included the Art Institute San Diego, Art Institute Inland Empire, Cal State University Long Beach, Cal State University Northridge, Design Institute of San Diego, Interior Designers Institute, Mt. San Antonio College, Orange Coast College, Otis College of Art and Design, San Diego Mesa College, and Woodbury University.

First and second-place winning entries/teams were selected to receive, and share, prizes of $10,000.00 and $4000.00, respectively.

Ghadeer’s first-place winning team will be recognized and presented their $10,000 award at theIIDA SoCal Calibre Design Awards in May 2016 and will be representing the IIDA SoCal Chapter at the second annual IIDA Westcoast Regional Student Design Charette, which will be held in Seattle, WA, in April 2016.
