Ginger Van Hook was born in Argentina and grew up in Los Angeles. She currently lives and works from her home studio in Inglewood with artist/husband, Luke Van Hook. Her photographs focus on landscapes and still lifes investigating the relation between the “Beauty” of nature, like gardens, and the “Beast” of pollution of nature, like power lines and cell towers. She is collaborating with her husband on a project about light and space using electromagnetism and LEDs. Seemingly tireless, she has made several documentaries on emerging artists and also teaches Color Photography and History of Photography at Otis College of Art and Design.
