Tucker Neel and Renee Petropoulos Lead Otis Class in Rome, Italy

Liberal Arts and Sciences faculty Tucker Neel and Graduate Fine Arts faculty Renee Petropoulos took fifteen students to Rome, Italy, over Spring Break. Students used this unique experience to critically interrogate their positions as tourists in Rome, contextualizing the role of the artist-tourist in a larger historical and social framework. Students visited many of the major Roman sites, including the Pantheon, The Vatican Museums, and Saint Peter’s Basilica. Additionally, we took a day trip to Hadrian’s Villa, the Villa d’Este and Tivoli. The weather was spectacular and the trip could not have gone better!
